Synthesis, Structure, and Spectroscopic Properties of Luminescent Coordination Polymers Based on the 2,5-Dimethoxyterephthalate Linker

We report on the synthesis and crystal structure of solvent-free coordination polymer CoII(2,5-DMT) (1) with 2,5-DMT ≡ 2,5-dimethoxyterephthalate which is isostructural to already reported MnII ZnII congeners (C2/c, Z = 4). In contrast, for M MgII, a MOF DMF-filled pores obtained, namely Mg2(2,5-DMT)2(DMF)2 (2) (P1¯, 2). Attempts remove these solvent molecules record gas sorption isotherm did not lead meaningful results. comparative study, thermal (DSC/TGA) luminescence properties all four compounds were investigated. The MII(2,5-DMT) composition show high stability up more than 300 °C, compound having lowest decomposition temperature. MII MnII, 2 bright upon blue light irradiation (λ 405 nm), whereas CoII in 1 quenches emission. While ZnII(2,5-DMT) MgII do significantly influence (blue) emission excitation bands compared free ligand, MnII(2,5-DMT) shows an additional metal-centred red
